TIDC collects indigent defense data from all 254 counties, public defense offices, and attorneys paid for court appointments.

Indigent defense data includes expenditure and related data in TIDC’s 3 core areas:

  • Adult Criminal & Juvenile Deliquency
  • Family Protection Representation

TIDC gathers data through the following reports:

  • Indigent Defense Expenditure Reports (IDER)
  • Indigent Defense Plans (ID Plan)
  • Family Protection Representation Plans (FPR Plan)
  • Attorney Practice Time Report

Why does TIDC collect this data?

This data helps TIDC track legal requirements for appointment of counsel and ensure accountability in public spending.

Counties must submit reports to receive state grants.
