TIDC trains judges, lawyers, magistrates, and court personnel on indigent defense practices and procedures. To deliver these trainings, TIDC frequently partners with other training organizations, like the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association (TCDLA), the Justice Courts Training Center (TJCTC), the National Association for Public Defense (NAPD), and the Texas Association of Counties (TAC). TIDC also hosts its own workshops regarding indigent defense and mental health.

TCDLA has partnered with the National Juvenile Training Center and the Texas Indigent Defense Commission to bring cutting edge juvenile defense practice to Texas.
